Working Principle
Microwave radiofrequency technology uses non-contact treatment to transmit high-frequency wave energy to the fat layer without damaging the skin and muscles. The microwave radiofre- quency field generated within the coverage area of the treatment head can selectively heat the large area of adipose tissue uniformly to a temperature a number of degrees higher than the body temperature, generally 45'C to 49'C, inducing the natural death of fat cells and prompting them to be discharged from the body.
Contraindications
(1) Implanted electronic devices such as a cardiac pacemaker, bladder stimulator, spinal cord stimulator or electrodes for a myoelectric prosthesis, or implanted metallic leads/substances. Do not treat patients who have had an implant in the past unless you are absolutely certain that the implant and all leads in their entirety have been removed. Note that leads are often left implanted after the implant is removed. The effects of the applied high frequency on the pacemaker could cause ventricular fibrillation. Any other persons with pacemakers must also remain outside of the treatment area.
(2) Hemorrhages or risk of hemorrhage.
(3) Septic conditions and empyema.
(4) Malignant tumors and undiagnosed tumors.
(5) Implants that could be impaired by electromagnetic field.
(6) Swellings that still feel warm.
(7) Thermohypesthesia (diminished perception of temperature differences). Thermohyperesthesia (very acute thermoesthesia or temperature sense; exaggerated perception of hot and cold).
(8) Acute inflammations.
(9) Severe arterial obstructions (stage III and IV). Arterial disease, circulatory insufficiency.
(10) Gynecological disorders involving acute inflammation. Not to be used in areas with birth control rings.
(11) Wetness, perspiration, or damp bandages.
(12) Permeating irradiation of the thorax in cases of severe heart diseases (heart valve diseases, myocardial insufficiency, myocardial infarct, severe coronary sclerosis).
(13) Menstruation, Pregnancy, Children.
(14) Basedow’s disease (irradiation could cause serious states of agitation).
(15) Deep vein thrombosis, phlebitis, varices (irradiation could cause congestive pain).
(16) Cardiac conditions. Not for people with heart bypass surgery.
